The lone warrior sat up in the tree eating an apple, snickering. They had come with bulldozers and more, to try and destroy this place. They had come for the mere purpose of destroying the earth. Their bodies and tools now lay on the ground, bloody as hell, possibly worse.
Well, not all of it. Azrael had drank some, in order to survive himself. He had wiped his mouth off, and then came to sit up here. He could never have allowed them to destroy this place; it was far too beautiful to him for that to occur. Besides, the vast knowledge that lay within its depths called to him now, as a sort of request, as if it wanted to be explored.
Grinning, Azrael was about to climb down into the main part of the forest when he saw somebody way down on the ground. Cackling, he threw an apple he was eating at them. "Oi! No developers allowed!" Still grinning, he took out an apple and started eating it again, watching the person below while sitting cross-legged; the branch was really big.
